Ready to Get Started?

Step 1: Profile

Mentors and mentees begin the process by completing a mentor or mentee profile. Make sure your contact information is up to date, add a profile picture, expand on your bio and communicate what you're looking for in the mentor relationship. Having a complete and accurate profile is crucial to the success of selection and matching.

Step 2: Enroll

Once your profile is complete, you will need to enroll as a mentor or mentee. Make selections for each of the program demographics. Demographics include topics, locations, specialties, and career stages. Please note that some fields are required for enrollment. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to make the best match. Keep in mind that to request a mentor or mentee, you must be enrolled in the program.

Step 3: Search

Enrolled mentees will then need to search the Mentor directory by a variety of criteria, such as an area of expertise, type of job, area of interest or location. The mentoring system will display a list of available mentors who closely meet the mentee's preferences.

Step 4: Request

Next, click on the member's name you're interested in connecting with. The link will bring you to their profile page. Look around. If you think it's a desired match, look under their profile image for the Mentor Match badge, which when clicked will allow you to request a connection. If it's not a desired match, you can simply select the back button to return to your previous search results.

Step 5: Connect

After carefully reviewing the mentor profiles, the mentee will submit one request to the mentor of his/her choice. Once the connection is approved by staff, the mentor will receive a notification via email with a link allowing him/her to log in to the system to access the mentee’s profile.
